Busy Weeks with EU Interpreters for our Conference Interpreting Program!

As part of our conference interpreting programme, which is an EU Centre of Excellence, we had an intensive two weeks of training with the participation of the staff interpreters of the European Parliament. In addition to the numerous classes, our students and instructors also took part in a mock conference on the "Belgian Presidency of the EU" organised by the European Commission where we integrated Turkish to a simulation of the multilingual interpreting environment in the EU. The Turkish booth gave a "retour" and the staff interpreters of the EP interpreted from their input into German. They then gave extensive feedback to our students on their retour. Next week, we will continue with a conference simulation organised by the department. 

Boğaziçi University's Conference Interpreting programme is an EU Centre of Excellence and the only member from Turkey of the European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) which brings together the best universities in conference interpreting.
