TKTD-AIIC Turkey Region 50th Anniversary Stakeholders' Conference will be held between December 20th-21st, 2019. Our department head, Prof. Ebru Diriker, will deliver a speech on conference interpreting education in Turkey while our department faculty, Kate M. “Kelimelerin Kıyısında: Türkiye'de Kadın Çevirmenler” [On the Shore of Words: Women Translators in Turkey], a book edited by faculty member Prof. Şehnaz Tahir Gürçağlar, has been published by Ithaki. As we congratulate our faculty members, Prof. Özlem Berk Albachten and Dr. Ceyda Elgül, our alumni Elif Aka, Özüm Arzık Erzurumlu and Ahu Selin Erkul Yağcı, and our PhD students Çiğdem Akanyıldız Gölbaşı, Merve Akbaş, Buket Dabancalı Fakıoğlu, Deniz İpek Çekderi and Nur Zeynep Kürük, for their contributions to this publication, we also commemorate Pınar Besen, alumni of our department and former research assistant, who passed away in 2013.
