International Achievement by Our Student Yusuf Öztop

Kybelix, led by our third-year undergraduate student Yusuf Öztop, received the Innovation Award in the AI and Space Computing Challenge, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a specialized agency of the United Nations.

Competing in “Track 1 – Space Intelligence Empowers Food Production,” the team developed a solution that uses satellite data and artificial intelligence to support food production and agricultural sustainability. Kybelix received the award for its innovative optimization approach, which enables its AI model to operate even with limited computational resources.

Yusuf Öztop, who founded Kybelix and serves as its team leader and developer, worked alongside four students from different universities across Türkiye. He was invited to the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva to attend the award ceremony and speak about the project.
